(MITCHELL) - According to Mitchell Police Chief Mike Hardman, three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Ind. 37 and State Road 60 East.

The accident report is not complete, but Hardman did share some details of the crash.

The accident happened at 12:57 p.m. near McDonald's.

Hardman says one vehicle pulled into the path of another. One woman suffered serious injuries.

Rescue crews attempted to fly the woman from the scene, but because of bad weather the helicopter was unable to arrive.

The woman was taken by ambulance to Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital.

Hardman says one of the injured was treated at a local hospital and later released. The third person injured suffered possible broken bones in the crash.

Hardman says more information will be available when the accident report is completed.

Assisting at the scene were Seals and IU Health ambulance crews, Marion Volunteer Fire Department first responders and the Bedford Fire Department extrication unit.
