(AVOCA) - 45-year-old Tammy L. Baker, 45, Avon, suffered neck and lower back pain in a four-vehicle collision on Ind. 37 Tuesday morning.

According to an Indiana State Police accident report 19-year-old John C. Erickson, of Fishers, was traveling south on State Road 37 in a 2010 Saab convertible, nearing Pinewood Lane approaching the stopped vehicles because of an earlier accident.

At that time, Michael S. Woodard Jr., 39, Nineveh, was stopped near the end of the line of vehicles in a 1995 Dodge van. In front of Woodard was Baker in a 2005 GMC Yukon. Douglas Prather, 55, Bedford, was in front of the Yukon in a 2007 GMC Sierra truck. The report says, all four vehicles were in the left lane of traffic, the report states.

"(Erickson) drove partially into the snow-covered median and lost control," the report reads. "(He) slid across both lanes of southbound State Road 37, across the snow covered shoulder, and struck the guard rail."

The report says the Saab "ricocheted" off the guard rail to go back onto State Road 37 and struck the passenger side of the Dodge van. The van then struck the rear of the Yukon because of the impact.

The Saab spun away from the vanand into the passenger side of the Yukon. Then, the Saab slid into the passenger side tail light area of the Sierra truck.

After the collision, the Saab stopped in the right lane of State Road 37, south of the other vehicles facing southwest.
Witnesses and evidence at the scene, such as the damage to the vehicles and tire marks, indicated that Erickson was going too fast when nearing the line of stopped vehicles.

He was cited for speeding too fast to avoid a collision.

Baker was taken to Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital.

Marshall Volunteer Fire Department first responders assisted.
