Teen Brain Games Tonight And Thursday

(BEDFORD) - Teen trivia buffs are getting ready for the Tenth Annual Teen Brain Games sponsored by the Lawrence County Museum of History.

Teams will square off at 6 p.m. on both Tuesday and again on Thursday at the Little Theatre of Bedford.

Joe Timbrook will be the moderator.

The competition will feature 16 teams composed of area middle and high school students. It will test their knowledge on a wide variety of subjects.

The teams match wits in a timed round. Points are awarded for correct answers, and there is no penalty for incorrect answers. The team with the most points at the end of the game advances. Winners will play again on Thursday night.

The pairings for Tuesday night are as follows:

6 p.m.: Brent Maudlin State Farm (Brent Maudlin State Farm Team) vs. Darlene McSoley, Attorney at Law (Oolitic Middle School Team Elegans).

6:20 p.m.: Bedford Federal Savings Bank (Orleans High School "A" Team) vs. Hoosier Hills Credit Union (Mitchell High School White Lightning Team).

6:40 p.m.: Dave Torphy State Farm Insurance (Mitchell High School The Three Narwhals Team) vs. Pynco, Inc. II (Pynco's BNL Marching Stars Team).

7 p.m.: Bud and Barbara Sargent (Bedford Middle School Beta Club) vs. Friends of Powertrain II (Oolitic Middle School Smart Ones Team).

7:40 p.m: Bedford Furniture Galleries (Mitchell High School Bluejackets Team) vs. Little Theatre (Little Theatre I Team).

8 p.m.: Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home, Inc. (Orleans High School "B" Team) vs. Holmes Hardware (Mitchell High School Los Elefantes Team).

8:20 p.m.: Day & Carter Mortuary (Little Theatre II Team) vs. Friends of Powertrain I (Eastern-Greene High School Team).

8:40 p.m: Curtis Orthodontics, Tod J. Curtis, DDS MS (Curtis Orthodontics Team) vs. Pynco I (Pynco's BNL Color Guard).

The games will continue on Thursday evening with the winner being crowned at the end of Thursday night's competition.

Teams are participating for cash prizes, individual medals and a team trophy for the sponsor.

Last year's winning team was composed of Mitchell High School seniors and was sponsored by Holmes Hardware.
