Championship Round Of Teen Brain Games Continues Tonight

(BEDFORD) - The 10th annual Teen Brain Games sponsored by the Lawrence County Museum of History got under way Tuesday night at Little Theatre of Bedford and tonight competition continues until a winner is crowned.

There were eight opening round matches featuring 16 area teams, with eight of those teams advancing to tonights night's championship round.

In the opening game, Brent Maudlin's State Farm team beat Darlene McSoley, Attorney at Law's Oolitic Middle School Elegans, 100-80.

In game two, Bedford Federal Savings Bank's Orleans High School's A Team defeated Hoosier Hills Credit Union's Mitchell High School's White Lightning, 150-100.

Game three had Pynco Inc.'s BNL Marching Stars topping Dave Torphy's MHS Narwhals, 110-100.

Game four saw Bud and Barbara Sargent's Bedford Middle School Beta Club beat Friends of Powertrain 2's OMS's Smart People.

Following a short break, the action resumed with Little Theatre's Little Theatre 1 defeating Bedford Furniture Galleries' Domini, 70-50.

Then Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home's Orleans High School B Team topped Holmes Hardware's MHS Los Elefantes, 70-10.

Friends of Powertrain 1's Eastern Greene High School team defeated Day & Carter Mortuary's Little Theatre 2, 60-10.

Then in the final game of the night, Curtis Orthodontics' team defeated the Pynco Inc. 1 BNL Color Guard team, 130-60.

The winners advanced to tonight's championship round:

6 p.m.: Brent Maudlin State Farm vs. Bedford Federal Savings Bank

6:20 p.m.: Pynco, Inc. II vs. Bud and Barbara Sargent

6:40 p.m.: Little Theatre Team 1 vs. Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home

7 p.m.: Friends of GM Powertrain 1 vs. Curtis Orthodontics

Winners in these four games will continue to play until an eventual champion is crowned.

The championship game will begin at approximately 8:20 p.m.
