(BLOOMINGTON) - A Solsberry man was arrested in downtown Bloomington over the weekend after he allegedly tried to grab an officer's radio and repeatedly screamed that he wanted to be taken to jail.

36-year-old Jeremy D. Wright appeared in Monroe Circuit Court to face charges of resisting law enforcement, false informing and public intoxication.

According to the Herald-Times, officers were called to the 100 block of East Seventh Street at 10:21 p.m. Saturday because Wright had made multiple calls reporting his wife was missing.

When officers arrived, Wright allegedly ran to a patrol vehicle and began pounded on the window while holding a set of keys in his hand. Police say Wright was frantic and had difficulty providing information about his missing wife.

Officers were finally able to determine that Wright thought his wife was missing because she had not called him. But when asked if he called his wife he told officers he had not tried. Officers determined that Wright's wife was not missing but inside the Video Saloon.

Wright became increasingly agitated, then shouted "take me to jail" for about five minutes, then reached out and grabbed an officer's patrol radio that was attached to the officer's uniform.

Wright was arrested without incident and taken to the Monroe County Jail at 12:02 a.m. Sunday, then released later after posting bond.
