(BEDFORD) - A power surge Wednesday caused the phones to stop working at Shawswick Elementary School.

Power was out at both Shawswick and Heltonville Elementary Schools Wednesday for about an hour Wednesday.

When the power came on after being off for an hour, a power surge caused the phones at Shawswick Elementary to stop working.

A school officials says a part was ordered to repair the phone system, but that part will not be in until sometime on Friday.

Until then, parents can contact the school via email or call the administration office at 279-3521 if they need to get a hold of a student or teacher.
