Last updated on Monday, November 4, 2013

(MITCHELL) - An Orleans man was arrested after he walked into Lost River Liquor in Mitchell and attempted to walk out with a half gallon of whiskey.

According to Mitchell Police Chief Mike Hardman, officers were called to the business on South Sixth Street just after 9 p.m.

There they found 45-year-old Andy Evans.

While officers talked to Evans, they realized he was intoxicated and Evans became belligerent with officers.

He then allegedly began struggling with police.

Evans was charged with theft, battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
