(MITCHELL) - Mitchell Mayor Gary Pruett says he has not heard from Verizon Wireless regarding the construction of a new 165-foot cell phone tower, which would provide more capacity, but no additional coverage.
A Verizon site selector approached the Mitchell board of works about constructing a tower on city-owned land at Seventh Street and Mississippi Avenue.
But Mitchell residents and the board were against construction at that site. So city officials asked Verizon to come up with a better location.
