Last updated on Wednesday, November 27, 2013

(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell woman was arrested after a dispute at a trailer on North 8th Street in Mitchell Tuesday morning.

40-year-old Robin Higgs was charged with battery causing bodily injury.

According to Mitchell Police, Higgs went to the home of her ex-husband just before 9 a.m. to get some of her belongings.

Higgs allegedly had called her ex-husband's 19-year-old girlfriend to tell her she was coming and to leave the trailer before she arrived. However when Higgs arrived at the trailer the girlfriend was still there.

Police say the two got into an argument and Higgs allegedly pulled the teen's hair and threw her out of the trailer.

The teen then ran to a neighbors and had them call police.

Higgs told police the teen attacked her and she was just defending herself.

The teen also told police that Higgs had allegedly stole her phone. However Higgs says the phone belonged to her. Police were unable to determine who owned the older-looking phone so no charges were filed.

Police then phoned Higg's ex-husband, he told police Higgs was not to go to the trailer unless he was home.
