Celebrate A 1800 Christmas At Spring Mill State Park Dec. 6-7

Last updated on Wednesday, November 27, 2013

(MITCHELL) - Celebrate the season like Hoosiers did in the late 1800s at Spring Mill State Park’s annual Holiday in the Village, Dec. 6-7.

The event will run from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6, and from 1 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Dec.7.

Visitors can stroll through the Pioneer Village as heritage interpreters and volunteers decorate trees, bake cookies and prepare to celebrate the holidays. Wassail and cookies will be served to the public both evenings in the Village Tavern.

On Friday, stop by the mill and help decorate the tree. Follow the luminaries to find Father Christmas, tell him your holiday wish and receive a candy cane.

On Saturday, listen to "Holiday Music in the Mill" by popular local group Wildflowers and Weeds.

Park admission is $5 per in-state vehicle and $7 per out-of-state vehicle. 2014 passes are available at the park office or front gate.

Spring Mill State Park is at 3333 State Road 60 East, Mitchell, 47446.
