Last updated on Thursday, November 14, 2013

(BLOOMINGTON) - A 17-year-old Bloomington girl told police she was sexually assaulted after she and her 16-year-old female friend stayed the night at a 20-year-old male acquaintance’s apartment.

The girl reported the assault to her school counselor who then contacted Child Protective Services and police.

According to Bloomington Police Sgt. Joe Crider, the teen told police she and her friend had went to man's apartment complex on the city's east side Saturday, and when they awoke early Sunday, the male had left. He later returned with three male friends, who were all intoxicated. The teen told police she didn't know the men or their names.

Crider says one of the men showed the teen and her friend his genitalia. She also reported one of the men grabbed her hand and tried to put it near his genitalia, but she pulled away.

The girl told police she then attempted to leave the apartment and that is when one of the men stopped her and pushed her against the door frame preventing her from leaving.

She told police she yelled for her friend to help, but the friend didn't want to leave. The teen was finally able to push the man off her and fled the apartment.
