(BLOOMFIELD) - Drug charges were dropped last spring against a Bloomfield man when he promised to join the military.
But he didn't come through on the promise and last week he was arrested again with the prosecutor re-filling the previously dropped drug charges and two new drug-related charges.
19-year-old Evan Kerr was arrested November 14 after a traffic stop.
Bloomfield Police Lt. Jeremy Inman noticed the burnt odor of marijuana and ended up taking Kerr to jail.
Last Monday he was charged with possession of marijuana and reckless possession of drug paraphernalia.
The prosecutor also charged Kerr with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and reckless possession of drug paraphernalia.
Those charges stem from a December 2012 incident and were dropped when Kerr told the court he would join the military and he failed to do that.
Kerr appeared in court Wednesday on those charges and the prosecution agreed to drop the paraphernalia charge, but he will still face the other charges.
