According to police the two students, 18-year-old Zesen Shen and 21-year-old Kaiyu Lao, were involved in a fight that began at about 3:30 a.m. in the parking lot of the apartments on East 10th Street and it resulted in a third student being stabbed.
Indiana University started sending out alerts about an armed individual on campus around 4 a.m. Sunday.
Parents of students attending IU received automated phone calls about the situation.
This message was posted on IU's twitter account:
"ALERT: Armed individual at large on campus. Take shelter in nearest room, lock the door, avoid windows. Stay inside until we give all clear."
The 20-year-old student was taken to IU Health Bloomington Hospital with non-life threatening wounds.
According to IU Vice President of Communitcations Mark Land, the three students had met to resolve a dispute and that is when Shen and Lao chased the third student and slashed him with the knife.
