Six People Arrested After Burglary In Campbellsburg

(CAMPBELLSBURG) - Six people were arrested in connection with a residential burglary and theft last week in Campbellsburg.

A woman, who lives on Lost River Road in Campbellsburg, called police Oct. 1, after she returned home, found her back door kicked open and her home burglarized. Police say some jewelry, a gun and other items were taken.

The next day, the woman called police again after she visited LaGene Jewelers and found several pieces of her jewelry there. Police were able to get information on who sold the jewelry to the store.

Washington County Deputy Brad Naugle says officers were able to arrest those involved and they recovered most of the jewelry and a .32-caliber handgun and other items taken from the home.

Police arrested 19-year-old Devin Keller of West Lost River Road in Campbellsburg. Police say Keller sold the jewelry to the jewelry store. He is charged with residential entry, a D felony, burglary, a C felony, theft and receiving stolen property.

Also arrested were:

Derrian Hampton, 18, Etzler Drive, Salem, on charges of aiding residential entry, aiding burglary, aiding theft and receiving stolen property;

Olivia Hamilton, 22, West Medlock Road, Salem, aiding residential entry, aiding burglary, aiding theft and receiving stolen property;

A juvenile was also charged with residential entry, burglary, theft and receiving stolen property.

Police then arrested a Campbellsburg couple for their involvement after the burglary.

Kalen Carpenter, 20, North Jefferson Street, Campbellsburg, is charged with receiving stolen property and tampering with evidence. Her husband, 22-year-old Michael Anderson Jr. was arrested on a charge of receiving stolen property as well as on an unrelated warrant for burglary. The two allegedly took the handgun to a home of a relative of Anderson. Police found the gun under a burn barrel in the yard.
