Protest Erupts Over Double-Digit Raises For Township Officials

Last updated on Friday, October 4, 2013

(BLOOMINGTON) - The Bloomington Township Board recently approved the township’s 2014 budget, which included double-digit raises for the top officials, and some residents are not happy about it.

The protest erupted over a 11 percent raise for trustee and 14 percent raise for deputy trustee in the 2014 budget.

Seventeen residents signed the formal petition filed Sept. 9, expressing their disagreement with salary increases for Trustee Lillian Henegar, Deputy Trustee Lisa Phillips and Senior Caseworker Carilyn Dillman and contracts for providing fire department services to other townships.
