(BLOOMFIELD) - Two more criminal cases have been filed against an Owensburg man already facing a misdemeanor charge of allowing his horses to run at large.

The Greene County Daily World reports, 44-year-old Ronnie Hughes now has another case pending accusing him of failure to stop after an accident.

An Indiana State trooper reported Hughes hit a parked vehicle at the Pinewood gas station in eastern Greene County then left the scene.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Hughes claimed he didn't stop because someone was threatening him with a knife. But according to police, surveillance video did not show anyone chasing or threatening Hughes.

Hughes is also facing more charges after Hughes is accused once again of allowing five of his horses to run loose on Mineral-Koleen Road. He appeared in court on the same charge in September. Hughes promised the court then that he would fix his fences which police claim were in such disarray and poorly maintained it would not hold the horses.

The latest incident involving the horses occurred on Oct. 2.

Police say Hughes is creating a dangerous situation for anyone traveling on the road.
