(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man ran from Lawrence Superior Court I Wednesday afternoon after Judge Michael Robbins ordered he be taken to jail.
According to Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig, when 33-year-old Ty York appeared in court and learned he was going to jail, he got up and fled the courtroom.
York was arrested May 1 by Bedford police on charges of possessing less than 3 grams of methamphetamine, a Class D felony; possessing a Schedule IV controlled substance, a Class D felony; and resisting police by fleeing, a Class A misdemeanor.
He was in Lawrence Superior Court I Wednesday afternoon for a pre-trial conference, according to court documents.
Craig says officers looked for York but were unable to find him.
On Thursday morning, a warrant to revoke bond was issued in York's case.
