(BLOOMFIELD) - Another criminal case involving a sex offense has been filed against a 19-year-old Jasonville man who was just charged with rape during a hearing on Monday in a separate case.
The Greene County Daily World reports that Justin Farnsworth was back in Greene Circuit Court Thursday morning for an initial hearing in the latest case accusing him of child molesting, a class C felony.
Since Farnsworth has been incarcerated in the Greene County Jail since his arrest last Friday, the new warrant was served on him there.
Farnsworth is accused of molesting a 12-year-old girl. The girl told police she was walking to a store when she was confronted by Farnsworth in the area of South Railroad and East Sycamore streets in Jasonville.
She told police that Farnsworth told her "if she went to the reservoir with him he wouldn't hurt her but if she didn't, she wouldn't see her dad again."
The girl told police on the way to the reservoir she tried to find a house or car she could run to for help but couldn't get away.
At the reservoir, Farnsworth allegedly molested the female. Farnsworth allegedly admitted to the crime. In the first case, Farnsworth is accused of raping a 16-year-old girl in an incident that allegedly occurred early in August
When Farnsworth was in court in the rape case, a public defender was appointed to represent him and a motion was filed by the defense requesting a psychiatric examination to determine if Farnsworth is competent to stand trial, and a notice of a defense based on Farnsworth having a mental disease or defect. The court has not yet ruled on the motion for a psychological examination.
In the rape case, bond was set at $15,000 cash or surety with ten percent allowed - he has not yet posted bond. He was being held without bond on the child molesting charge.
