Former Miss America To Speak With Teens

(PAOLI) - The Area II 4-H Teen Council has scheduled this year’s Southern Indiana Youth Leadership Forum for Saturday.

The theme for the forum is "Operation: Leadership."

The forum will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Orange County Community Center in Paoli. The cost is $15 and includes lunch and a T-shirt.

Registration information is available by calling county extension offices. The number for the Lawrence County Extension Service is 275-4623.

The forum will provide high-profile examples that demonstrate the power of leadership, citizenship and character to aspiring Indiana youth leaders.

The keynote address will be by Katie Stam-Irk, who is from Jackson County and was Miss America in 2009.

The forum will also feature breakout workshops on bullying prevention and citizenship in action.

The forum is available to all teens, regardless of 4-H affiliation.
