Last updated on Monday, October 28, 2013

(MITCHELL) - A fire in a mobile home caused heat and smoke damage Friday afternoon.

Marion Township Volunteer Fire Department Chief Jason Zeeks says the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Firefighters were alerted to the fire at 1:55 p.m. Friday after a mail carrier dialed 911 reporting the blaze in the 1700 block of Noe Road.

The woman who lived in the home was out of town.

Zeeks says fire fighters were able to extinguish the fire quickly that was confined to the living room area.

Huron and Orange County Rural District II VFDs were also called to the scene, but were told soon after that they were not needed.
