(BEDFORD) - Lawrence County police were called after a resident on Moto Cross Road found a 1 1/2 year-old-child in the middle of the roadway.
According to Sheriff Sam Craig the child was not injured, but had wandered from a home on Dixie Highway.
The Department of Child Services was contacted.
"They are working with the family," Craig says. "And investigating the incident."
