Brown County Man Injured In Crash

Last updated on Friday, October 11, 2013

(NASHVILLE) - A Brown County man was hospitalized after a one-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning in Johnson County.

Johnson County Sheriff Doug Cox says that at approximately 12:45 a.m., Deputy Chad Allen responded to 7205 West State Road 135 on a report of a personal injury accident.

When police arrived, they spoke with the driver, 40-year-old Joshua G. McCulley, of Nashville.

McCulley told police he drifted off the road and over corrected, causing his vehicle to flip.

Police say McCulley and his vehicle smelled of alcohol. They also found numerous empty beer cans in the vehicle.

McCulley was taken to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, where he submitted to a blood draw just before 3 a.m. After the blood draw, Allen reports that McCulley admitted to drinking approximately six beers earlier in the evening.

He reportedly told Allen, "I should not have gone out tonight. "

No arrests were made due to McCulley's hospitalization. Sheriff Cox says they are also awaiting the results of the blood draw.

Cox adds that McCulley was previously convicted for drunk driving in 2005.
