(BLOOMFIELD) - A Bloomfield man received his fifth winning title of the Joe’s Pizza Eating contest at the Bloomfield Apple Festival Friday.
Brian Gainey finished his 16-inch pizza in just eight minutes. Of the 10 contestants, he was the only one to finish.
The Greene County Daily World reports, Gainey has taken part in the contest sporadically over the years, and each time he has come away with the top prize of a coupon for free pizza each time.
His trick is to eat the pizza slow and steady, and stacking them two at a time.
Bodhi Bechtel was the second place winner of the contest. He completed six of the 10 slices of pizza.
Bechtel said his trick was to drink water as he consumed the pizza.
