Bloomington Man Arrested After Fighting With Police

(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man was arrested after police stopped his vehicle on North Willis Drive and West Arlington Valley Drive early Sunday morning.

According to Bloomington Sgt. Dana Cole, officers stopped the vehicle after they received a call reporting the possible theft of antifreeze from a Bloomington gas station.

36-year-old Rickey Moore told police he did not steal any antifreeze but did have an antifreeze bottle that he had filled with water from a faucet at the gas station.

While investigating the incident Moore began resisting officers and one officers suffered a cut to his elbow that was later treated at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.

During the struggle Moore dropped a capped syringe and admitted to a heroin addiction, according to officers. In addition, police said they found marijuana inside the vehicle.

Moore was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting law enforcement, and possession of marijuana.
