Bedford Woman Arrested After Spending Money Belonging To Mother In Nursing Home

Last updated on Monday, October 28, 2013

(BEDFORD) - 51-year-old Tracy Page, of Bedford, was arrested on a warrant Thursday after Adult Protective Services contacted Bedford police after Page allegedly spent large sums of her mother’s money while her mother was in a nursing home.

The woman is in the late stages of Alzheimer's and is unable to care for herself.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Page is facing a charge of exploitation of an endangered adult.

Bedford Detective Brandon Woodward alleges Page used the money from the sale of her mother's home, $141,000, to purchase a home for herself.

According to the manager of the nursing home the proceeds from the sale should have gone to the nursing home for the victim's care and that the victim could have been made to leave the facility.

Page was released from jail on her own recognizance after her initial hearing Friday morning.
