Bedford Employees, Officials And Council Get Pay Raise

(BEDFORD) - The Bedford City Council Tuesday night approved a 3 percent pay raise for the mayor, the clerk-treasurer and for themselves.

They also approved a 3 percent pay raises for most city workers for 2014. (Some employees could see higher percentage increases.)

Neither Mayor Shawna Girgis nor Clerk-treasurer Julie Blackwell-Chase has received a pay increase since taking office in 2008.

Girgis' salary will increase from $62,660 this year to $64,359 next year. 's Blackwell-Chase's salary will increase from $54,158 this year to $55,783 next year.

Council members' salaries will increase from $3,516 this year to $4,744 next year.
