(BLOOMFIELD) - 31-year-old David Robert, of Bedford, died after he crashed his vehicle into a tree on State Road 54 Wednesday night.

According to the Greene County Sheriffs Department, officers went to the scene on State Road 54 at 11:47 p.m.

According to GCSD Deputy Harvey Holt, Roberts was traveling east on State Road 54, when the vehicle left the south side of the roadway just west of Harv-Wright Road and hit a tree.

Family members believe Roberts might have fallen asleep.

Police say Roberts was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the wreck, and air bags did deploy.

Holt was assisted by GCSD Deputy Davis Aerne, Bloomfield Police Department Chief Deputy Jeremy Inman, Greene County Ambulance Service, Richland Fire Department, and Center Fire Department.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, at Dive Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Limestone Boys and Girls Club.
