(BEDFORD) - A 23-year-old Bedford man was arrested after his odd behavior and threatening a woman outside of Bailey's Flowers on 16th Street Monday afternoon.

David Johnson was arrested on charges of intimidation, possession of meth, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, possession of a Schedule III controlled substance, reckless possession of drug paraphernalia and public intoxication.

Police received a call reporting someone acting "oddly" between I and J streets on 16th Street.

According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, when officers arrived they found Johnson walking in front of the flower shop yelling and just not making much sense.

Parlsey says Johnson claimed there was a woman in a store that had a child that was not hers.

However police couldn't find any problem.

While on the scene a woman approached police and told them Johnson had came up to her and told her that her child wasn't hers.

According to Parsley the woman didn't have a small child with her, but a teenager.

Johnson was charged with intimidation for approaching the woman.

During his arrest, officers searched Johnson and found the drugs.

Parsley says the possession of meth charge was a heightened offense because it was within 1,000 feet of Happy Healthy Kids, a cheer, dance and gymnastics studio.

Johnson will now face probation charges.

In September 2012, Johnson was arrested by Oolitic Deputy Town Marshal Bill Allen after an active meth lab was found near 424 Ike Underwood Lane. He was charged with possession of meth, manufacturing meth, public intoxication and reckless possession of paraphernalia.

As of 8:40 a.m. today, Johnson was still in jail with no bond set because he was out on probation for the September arrest.
