90 Trees Will Be Cut To Expand Paths At Bloomington's Cascade Park

Last updated on Thursday, October 24, 2013

(BLOOMINGTON) - Despite appeals to prevent the felling of about 90 trees in Cascades Park, the construction work will continue.

The Bloomington Board of Park Commissioners heard from one concerned resident Tuesday afternoon, but unanimously denied the appeal.

Bikers and runners will soon have a new path to travel from the lower section of Cascades Park to the upper area by the golf course and back.

Construction should begin next week to add a 0.66-mile path that will connect with the existing 0.8-mile trail in the lower part of the park and stretch to the golf course entrance.
