(WASHINGTON) - A Washington man is in jail on multiple charges after he allegedly damaged property at his estranged wife’s residence, resisted arrest and injured a Washington Police officer over the weekend.
Washington police were called to 1300 McCormick Avenue at 6:20 p.m. Saturday. When Officers arrived they found a vehicle parked at the house had been damaged, and 35-year-old Christopher Clark who refused to cooperate with police and began to walk away from the home.
Officers arrested Clark and that is when he physically began resisting police.
One officer was injured during the struggle.
When Clark was finally subdued and put in a police car he kicked out the back windows of the cruiser. He continued to resist and had to be placed in an ambulance under guard and then taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries he incurred during the fight with police.
After being treated for minor injuries he was taken to the Daviess County Security Center and charged with two counts of battery on a police officer causing bodily injury, two counts of resisting law enforcement, two counts of criminal mischief causing property damage, two counts of neglect of a dependent, strangulation, disorderly conduct and public intoxication.
The injured police officer was treated for his injuries at a local hospital and returned to duty.
