(MONROE CO.) - Two employers in Monroe County are laying off workers.
GE Appliances plans to eliminate 160 jobs from its Bloomington plant because demand for its side-by-side refrigerators has fallen by more than 30 percent since 2010.
Telecommunications company Smithville is cutting 45 full-time employees in Ellettsville due in part because consumers are using fewer landline telephones.
