Two Men Charged With Possession Of Synthetic Marijuana

Last updated on Thursday, September 19, 2013

(BLOOMFIELD) - Two men arrested last week appeared in court Monday on charges of possession of a synthetic drug.

38-year-old Nathaniel McCloud, of Bloomfield and 33-year-old Kyle Sneed, of Paoli, were arrested on Sept. 10 after a traffic stop on Franklin Street just south of Ind. 54 in Bloomfield.

Anna Rochelle of the Greene County Daily World reports that Bloomfield Lt. Jeremy Inman stopped a 2001 Ford F-150 driven by McCloud because he had a busted trail lift.

During the traffic stop Inman reported he smelled the odor of what he believed was marijuana or K2. When asked about the odor McCloud told the officer he had smoked spice and had some on him in his left boot and in his pocket.

McCloud gave the officer consent to search the truck and the officer found a pipe used to smoke the drug in the center console. The officer also found two packages of "Joker," synthetic marijuana.

BPD Anthony Bowers responded to assist and spoke to Sneed who allegedly told the officer he had a package of K2 in the glove box which was also seized.

According to an affidavit prepared by Inman, the two men both said they purchased the packages of synthetic drugs at a Marathon station in Indianapolis for $50 each and that they used it to get high and had just smoked it earlier.

Both men were booked into the Greene County Jail then bonded out for $100 cash each - 10 percent of bonds of $1,000.
