(ODON) - The Town of Odon is asking residents to conserve water until further notice.
Odon Town Clerk Beth Haseman says water utility crews were attempting to isolate and repair a leak in the area of South Main Street Thursday and some of the area may be with out water while repairs are being done.
At this week's meeting the Odon Town Board was has learned there may be a less costly solution to the town's wastewater problems.
According to the Odon Journal, James Frazell of Triad Associates in Indianapolis was invited to the Town Board meeting after the Board received and initial estimate of $4.5 million to bring Odon's wastewater system into compliance.
Frazell told the board that his company could lower costs through modification of the existing system.
He did suggest that Odon look at expansion through annexation towards I-69.
The original study called for rebuilding the treatment plant with Odon residents paying sewer bills of between $52 and $59 per month. Odon also faces other infrastructure issues with the water plant.
Board members took the information under advisement and did not make any decisions.
