(MITCHELL) - Nine people were left homeless after a fire destroyed their home at 125 West Mississippi Ave., Friday night.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the State Fire Marshal.

Condra and Jeffe Lewis were assisted with a place to stay by the American Red Cross in Mitchell, while the other faimlies were put up by the American Red Cross in a location in Paoli.

Johnson believes the fire started near the living room area of the house.
