(SPRINGVILLE) - Lawrence County Deputies were called to a home in the 500 block of North Helton Road after they received a 911 call reporting a man was driving his vehicle in the caller’s yard.
The caller reported that the man seen driving the car was first banging on his door.
Then the man got back into his vehicle and almost hit the caller's house. Next, the driver of the vehicle was seen driving around in the caller's back yard.
The driver then drove around the house and hit a tree in the caller's front yard.
When police arrived they found 41-year-old Larry Stancombe, of Bloomington, standing beside a 2004 Dodge Intrepid.
Stancombe told police he was chasing people who had been stealing items from his home. However police say there were no other people around or signs that any had been in the area.
Stancombe was taken by ambulance to IU Health Hospital for a medical evaluation.
