(SPRINGVILLE) - A Lawrence County Police Department officer suffered a minor injury to his shoulder during an altercation Sunday morning.
According to Sheriff Sam Craig the officer was taken to a local hospital where he was treated and released.
The incident began after police received a 911 call at 1:20 a.m. from a home in the 6000 block of Ind. 54 in Springville.
A woman reported her son was threatening to kill the whole family and she then hung up.
Officers went to the home where they found a male who Craig says was out of control.
Officers had to use a Taser to subdue the man, who was then taken to Bloomington Hospital for treatment.
Craig says the case remains under investigation.
