Free Firewood Available

Last updated on Tuesday, September 3, 2013

(BEDFORD) - Lawrence County Solid Waste District is offering free firewood.

The wood comes from downed limbs and trees in the city that crews pick up and take to the Lawrence County complex on Sandpit Road.

Residents needing firewood can go to their county trustee or through the LIFE pantry in Bedford or Mitchell and get a voucher to pick up the free firewood.

Those not qualifying for vouchers for the cut up wood can still get firewood if they come out with a chain saw or splitter and cut up what they want and haul it off.
