(BEDFORD) - 26-year-old Lindsay Endris, a former teacher at Parkview Primary, was sentenced to Drug Court and no other hearings are scheduled in her case.
Lawrence Superior Court II oversees and administers Drug Court, a program which offers those who have committed crimes with drugs and or alcohol - a second chance. The program is an intensive attempt to rehabilitate and reform offenders who have problems with addiction. Those in Drug Court are in the program for a maximum of three years.
Endris, who was first-grade teacher at Parkview Primary School, was arrested June 11 by Bedford Police officers after a Lawrence County officer stopped her for a traffic violation. The Bedford Police Department responded after hearing about the stop because they had received information that Endris may be involved in drug activities.
Endris was charged with possession of heroin with the intent to deal, possession of meth, two counts of possessing a Schedule IV controlled substance and trafficking with an inmate.
She was charged with trafficking with an inmate after the jail matron found more drugs in Endris' underwear when she was searched and changing into a jail uniform.
The North Lawrence School Board terminated Endris in June.
