Fire Consumes Hay Bales At Robinson Farm

Last updated on Tuesday, September 17, 2013

(ORLEANS) - Firefighters from Orange County Rural District II, Livonia, Orleans, Paoli and Marion Township battled a fire that consumed several hay bales Monday afternoon.

According to Orange County Rural II Fire Chief Bill Sallee the fire was at the farm of Roger Robinson on County Road North 200 East.

"It was a mess," Sallee says. "They had to use a back hoe and excavator to push many of the bails into what use to be a pond. I am not sure how many bales were destroyed."

Orleans firefighters set up a perimeter to keep the fire from spreading. While Marion, Paoli and Livonia supplied manpower and tankers to supply additional water.
