Bloomfield Couple Wanted On Meth Charges

Last updated on Tuesday, September 3, 2013

(BLOOMFIELD) - The couple’s activities attracted a lot of attention Wednesday morning when police were notified that a man had a gun and was threatening to commit suicide at a home on North Warren Road in Bloomfield.

Sabrina Westfall of the Greene County Daily World reports that when police arrived they found 35-year-old Dustin Lee "Ducky" Fields. He claims he never intended to shoot himself and that the couple had been fighting and he had made a threat of suicide to get her attention.

Police says his wife 29-year-old Tiffany Moore was under the influence of a controlled substance. When asked she told police they had both used meth the night before. Moore then showed Greene County Detective Sgt. George Dallaire needle marks on her arm saying she ingested the meth by shooting up and that Field makes the meth they both use in their East Main Street Apartment in Bloomfield.

According to a probable cause affidavit Moore implicated Fields, saying he made the meth. However Fields told police Moore made the meth and police would find her DNA on a pair of gloves they used while making the meth.

Both agreed to let police search the apartment where police found numerous items used to make meth.
Police found in several locations of the home: coffee filters, rolling papers, hypodermic syringes, spoon, a cold pack, plastic bags with corners cut off, razor blade, plates with residue, cut straws, digital scales, pen tubes, white capsules, knife, HCL generators with plastic tubing, plastic containers with liquids, Epsom salt, Liquid Fire, funnel, rubber gloves, lithium strips, pseudoephedrine pills, a grinder, glass jars with clear liquids or white powdery substances in the freezer and trash bags containing meth lab trash. Many of the items field-tested positive for meth or meth residue. They also located a "one-pot meth lab" above the bathroom mirror, and a personal journal written by Moore - with entries about manufacturing meth in the apartment.

Due to the hazardous nature of the chemicals found in the apartment, the Indiana State Police Methamphetamine Suppression Unit was called in to assist and Troopers Jon Patrick and Josh Allen responded to document evidence and help with clean-up.

Fields told police he was an addict and started making meth about three to four times a week for the couple's use, sold some of it about making about $50 a week, but never made it while the couple's children were home.

The Department of Child Services was contacted and began an investigating regarding the children's safety. No information was available on if the children were removed from the home.

Fields was arrested Wednesday and charged Friday when he appeared in Green County Superior Court with dealing and manufacturing meth, possession of meth, maintaining a common nuisance and dumping a controlled substance waste after police determined Fields was putting the waste in a dumpster at a local liquor store.

Prosecutor Jarrod Holtsclaw also filed a notice that they intended to seek a status of habitual substance offender against Fields.

Also on Friday, Judge Dana Martin issued a warrant for the arrest of Moore who will face the same criminal charges.
