(BLOOMFIELD) - 29-year-old Keven Hammonds, of Bloomfield, was charged with possession of meth, when he appeared in Greene Circuit Court for an initial hearing on Friday.

The Greene County Daily World reports, Hammonds, was arrested by Lt. Jeremy Inman of the Bloomfield Police Department after the officer responded to a call late on Sept. 11 about a couple of suspicious men near the Bloomfield State Bank just north of the Bloomfield square on State Road 157.

The caller reported the two men were not wearing shirts and might be impaired or intoxicated.

Police found Hammonds and reported his behavior led them to believe Hammonds was under the influence of some type of drug.

During a conversation with Hammonds an officer saw him throw something over his shoulder. Officers retrieved a round metal cylinder that contained a clear liquid substance that tested positive for meth.

Hammonds was arrested and booked into the Greene County Jail around 10 p.m.
He was initially held without bond pending a court appearance.

When he appeared in court, a public defender was appointed to represent him and his bond was set at $4,000 surety with ten percent allowed. Hammonds has since been released after posting $400 cash.
