(BEDFORD) - Lawrence County Coroner Robert Herr is adding another expert to his staff.
David Wright, a certified fire and explosion investigator and member of the Bedford Fire Department, began the Indiana Coroner's certification program on Wednesday.
"David brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the fire sciences," Herr says. "Our hope is to add to that expertise by providing additional training and experience in death investigation. Being able to examine and interpret his base function with the knowledge and perspective of a death investigator can be invaluable to those cases where that base function is suspect or in play."
Additionally, Herr and Forensic Pathologist Dr. James Jacobi and Wright recently attended the Indiana State Coroners Training Conference in Indianapolis, which offered training and networking among coroners, deputy coroners and pathologists.
