Woman Dies After Crashing Motorcycle On Ind. 158 Sunday

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford woman was killed after she crashed her motorcycle on Ind. 158 west, one mile west of Bedford Sunday night.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 42-year-old Stacy Pruitt, of 709 27th St., died at the scene.

According to police, Pruitt was traveling east on Ind. 158 West when she crashed her 2004 AMF FXS Series motorcycle as she was going through the curve.

Pruitt drove off the right side of the road and hit a guard rail. Pruitt was then thrown from the bike over the guard rail and down the embankment.

She was not wearing a helmet during the incident.

Pruitt suffered internal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

An Indiana State Police accident reconstructionist was called to the scene.

Indian Creek Volunteer Fire Department and an IU Health Hospital ambulance also responded.
