Washington Creates Pay Rate For New Parks And Recreation Assistant Supervisor

Last updated on Wednesday, August 14, 2013

(WASHINGTON) - The Washington City Council approved an ordinance to create a pay rate for a new parks and recreation assistant supervisor.

Mayor Joe Wellman says allowing the city council to put a pay rate in place would help fill the position faster and would also increase the number of full-time employees in the parks department to equal the same number they had a few years ago.

Wellman added many of the current part-time employees within the department are college students who will be returning to school soon and finding a new employee will ensure there are plenty of hands to keep events up and running.
