Bedford All Stars Defeat New York 11-9

(TAYLOR MI.) - The Bedford 13 & 14 year old All Stars are now 2-2 after defeating New York 11-9 on Thursday.

The No.4 seed the Bedford All Stars will face off with the Czech Republic in the second consolation game Friday at 10:30 a.m

Here are some play by play from Steven Gillespie who covered the game live in Taylor Thursday afternoon.

The Bedford All Stars lead 4-2 after 2 innings of play and a strong offensive push from both team.

Bedford All Stars secured a double play and wrapped up the second inning with Bedford All Stars leading New York 4-2.

New York tied the game, 4-4 in the bottom of the third inning.

The Bedford All Stars scored 4 in the top of the 4th inning to take an 8-4 lead.

After four innings, the Bedford All Stars lead 8-5.

New York took the lead after scoring four runs in the bottom of the 6th. The Bedford All Stars then trailed New York, 9-8.

Ronnie Watson hit a double bringing two runs in with Bedford taking the lead 10-9. Watson then scored on a wild pitch and Bedford led 11-9 with two outs in the top of the seventh.

Thursday's game concluded pool play, and the International vs. United States games start on Friday, with USA No.5 seed challenging International 5 seed in the opener. The No.4 Bedford All Stars will face off with the Czech Republic in the second consolation game which will begin at 10:30 a.m, with the No.3 seeds to follow.

The top two seeds in the International bracket play at 4 p.m., Friday, with the winner advancing to the world championship game. The top two U.S. seeds duel at 7 p.m., for the United States championship.
