Two Elementary Students Report Man Attempted To Lure Them Into Vehicle With Candy

Last updated on Saturday, August 31, 2013

(BLOOMINGTON) - Two Fairview Elementary school students told school officials that a man attempted to lure them into his vehicle after he offered them candy.

Bloomington Police Sgt. Joe Crider says the 11-year-old girl told police a white man in his mid-50s to early 60s had stopped her in the area of 11th and Adams street around 4 p.m. on Monday and offered her candy to get in his green colored minivan, that had silver hubcaps.

The girl told police the man was balding and had a beard.

Crider says an 11-year-old male reported a man with similar features also asked if he wanted candy about two months ago near 14th and Illinois street. But the man was driving a white-colored van.

The case is under investigation and police are reviewing video footage from Crestmont Apartments.
