(BLOOMFIELD) - A rural Bloomfield man and woman were arrested after Indiana State Police found a meth lab Tuesday at their home.
57-year-old William Rollins and 30-year-old Amanda Rieman, were taken to the Greene County Jail on numerous drug charges.
ISP Trooper Kent Rohlfing says members of the Methamphetamine Suppression Section found 15 old one pot meth labs outside of the home at 4500 South State Road 45. They also found labs inside the home. No one was home when police arrived but soon Rollins drove up and then Rieman arrived later.
Police went to the home after determining Rieman was wanted on a warrant in Monroe County for failure to appear in court on a theft case. They also wanted to ask Rieman about numbers pseudoephedrine purchases. According to police Rieman made 18 purchases of the drug in 2013 and Rollins had made 21. They allegedly attempted to buy more but those purchases were blocked.
Rollins told police Rieman lived at the home, with her three children. Rollin told police he used the pseudoephedrine for his C.O.P.D. A trooper asked for consent to search the residence but Rollins denied the request.
Rollins was asked if he had anything in his pockets and he allegedly pulled out a small handgun from a rear pocket, admitting that he did not have a handgun permit. There was a loaded magazine in the gun. He was arrested on a charge of possession of a handgun without a permit. Police also found items in his pockets that tested positive for meth.
Rieman was arrested on the outstanding warrant. Police found items in her car and purse that had a white residue on them that tested positive for meth.
Then police obtained a search warrant for the home.
After searching the home troopers found numerous items used to make meth in a bathroom, bedroom and in the backyard.
The Greene County Prosecutor's Office filed criminal cases against both Rollins and Rieman on Wednesday.
When Rollins appears in Greene Superior Court for an initial hearing, he will be charged with the manufacture of meth, possession of meth by a defendant possessing a firearm, possession of two or more chemical reagents/precursors with the intent to manufacture a controlled substance and maintaining a common nuisance.
Rieman will be charged with the manufacture of meth, possession of meth, possession of two or more chemical reagents/precursors with the intent to manufacture a controlled substance, maintaining a common nuisance, neglect of a dependent by putting them in a situation endangering their life or health.
The two are being held without bond pending their court appearances.
Also assisting at the scene were ISP Master Trooper Jon Patrick, Troopers Joshua Allen, Tyler Dawley and Eric Russell.
