(MITCHELL) - It is time to enter the Mini, Little and Junior Miss Persmisson pageant.
Entry forms for the pageants will be available only at the Greater Mitchell Chamber of Commerce Office, 1494 W. Main St., Mitchell, (former Integra Bank building) beginning Aug. 12 at 8:30 a.m.
Entry forms cannot be faxed or hand delivered.
A $30 entry fee is required and space is limited to 20 girls in each age group.
Each category is on a first-come, first-serve basis and will fill up within the first few days.
All entry forms must be filled out, postmarked and mailed to chairperson Candi Livingston at P.O. Box 248, Mitchell, IN 47446..
All contestants must be enrolled in a Lawrence County school. The Mini contest is open to girls in grades K-2. The Little Miss contest is open to grades 3-5. The Junior Miss is open to girls in grades 6-8.
Practices for Mini and Little Miss will be held Aug 31, Sept. 7 and Sept. 14. Junior Miss practices will be held Sept. 1, Sept. 8 and Sept. 15.
There will be a pizza party/rehearsal on Sept. 18 for all girls.
Judging will take place from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sept. 21 at scheduled times.
The crowning will be held on the Main Street Stage on Sept. 23. Winners of the three categories will ride in the Persimmon Festival Parade on Sept. 28, including Miss Congeniality.
This year the three queens will each receive a Thirty-One gift and a gift certificate to "2nd Chance Closet."
Contestants will be required to wear a semi-formal dresses, casual wear outfits (school clothes ) and have royal blue shorts for the program. All clothing must be age-appropriate.
