The 128th Annual Odon Old Settlers Festival This Week

(ODON) - The 128th annual Odon Old Settlers Festival will be held through Saturday in the Odon park.

There is free parking, free admission and free entertainment.

This year the Odon Lions Club will serve as the grand marshals for the event that has been themed "Tribute to Odon's Volunteers."

The Floral Hall will be open from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Carnival rides start at 6 p.m. each day and at 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Today's festivities, are sponsored by the Odon VFW, and include the first round of the talent contest at 6:30 p.m.

The Linda Smith Band will entertain crowds from 8 p.m. until 10 p.m.

The second round of the talent contest will be held on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

The Little Miss and Mister contest will follow at 7:30 p.m.

Spittin' Image, a duo formed by identical twins Bryan And Blain Swabb, will perform from 8 p.m. until 10 p.m. Spittin' Image plays a variety of music including classic country, classic rock and gospel all mixed with humor.

First National Bank of Odon and Crane Federal Credit Union will be the sponsors for the night.

Perdue Farms will be the sponsor for Friday's activities that begin at 1 p.m. with the 50-year club event and kids games at the Lions Club.

The final round of the talent contest will start at 6:30 p.m. and the King Family, a group composed of Tim and Kim King and their seven children, will be on the stage from 8 p.m. until 10 p.m. The Kings play a variety of country, gospel and blue grass music.

The final day of the event is sponsored by REMC with the baby show on Saturday. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. registration and the show at 6:30 p.m.

TJ Thomas and the Kentucky Strait Band will be the final group to perform at the festival. The band performs a variety of country music and classic rock.

Concessions and other vendors will also be set up in the park.
