Peters Will Have Private Funeral Service

Last updated on Monday, August 5, 2013

(BEDFORD) - Josiah Peters celebrated his 25th birthday on July 27.

But this past Thursday night, for an unknown reason, he entered the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department just after 6 p.m. and ended his life.

Coroner Rob Herr says Peters died after he placed a gun to his head and pulled the trigger. An autopsy was conducted Friday and the results are pending.

Indiana State Troopers are investigating what lead up to Peters decision to end his life.

ISP Sgt. Curt Durnil says officers have not found any note, text or other communication stating why Peters may have chosen to go to the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department to end his life.

His family will hold a private funeral for Peters. Chesthaven Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
